Nooooooooo, because now I’m thinking of Mama Stilinski sitting in her hospital bed late at night, when she’s supposed to be sleeping but can’t, and anyway the nurses won’t be coming by to check on her for another hour at least so who’ll know, and she has the photo album that she asked her husband to bring open in her lap as she writes them notes, little memories for them to keep after she’s gone.  She’s filled out the little space on the brochure already, the one they give you to help you deal with dying, as if a glossy little fold-out scrap of paper is going to reconcile you to leaving them alone.  Still, she filled it out, and the doctors will give it to them after … after, but this is hers.  An album full of pictures that she’s kept because she always was a little bit old-fashioned, never quite trusted them to shiny, scratchable discs and hard drives that could crash at any moment.  So she sits, and she writes out all the little thoughts and moments that there wasn’t room for on six inches of wide-spaced lines, and sometimes she pauses because her hands are shaking at the thought of her boys left all alone without her, but when the nurse comes in there’s a note on every picture in the book to leave them all the love she can’t bear to take with her when she goes.
